SALMON ANGLERS Ltd. RULES
ALL ANGLERS
All anglers must be in possession of a valid Environment Agency licence covering the species for which they are fishing.
All anglers must be aware of, and comply with, the NRW rules relating to the species for which they are fishing, including seasons and permissible methods.
All fish must be safely returned, regardless of species, other than those classed by NRW as invasive and requiring removal.
Members and visiting anglers must produce their membership card or day ticket when requested by a BODSAA bailiff or any full member of BODSAA.
VISITING ANGLERS
Any visitor found to be breaking the rules or threatening, abusing or assaulting a BODSAA bailiff will be expelled from the association waters and other clubs will be informed.
Juniors fishing alone must be over the age of 12 and produce their EA licence before purchasing a ticket.
Juniors under the age of 12 will be issued with tickets only if fishing with an adult, who will be responsible for the junior at all times.
ETIQUETTE
Game anglers fishing a pool or run for a period of 20 minutes or more must give way to others if requested.
Coarse anglers must give way to wading game anglers when requested.
Wading anglers should fish down a pool without undue delay if another angler is waiting to follow them. The following angler should allow a 30 metres gap unless invited to follow sooner.
Anglers should not commence fishing within 75 metres downstream of another angler already wading down a pool unless invited.
BROWN TROUT FISHING RULES
Brown trout fishing is by fly only and with barbless/de-barbed hooks with a gape not greater than 10mm.
COARSE FISHING RULES
Only full members and day ticket anglers in possession of a trout or salmon permit are allowed to fly fish for coarse fish.
Day tickets for coarse fishing do not allow spinning other than for pike and any worming must only be with a single worm using hooks no larger than Size 8 and gape not greater than 10mm.
The use of fish livebaits is strictly prohibited.
Fishing with dead baits is permitted from 16 June to 14 March. Hooks must be barbless or semi-barbed. To prevent possible spread of disease only sea fish or commercially frozen freshwater fish may be used.
Lure fishing for Pike is allowed from 20th October to 1st March. Lures must be a minimum of 125mm/5" and hooks must be barbless/de-barbed.
Pike anglers must be in possession of suitable forceps or pliers, an unhooking mat and a landing net with a minimum size of 36 inches.
BODSAA coarse-only members can fish all beats from October 18th to March 14th but only the following beats from June 16th to October 17th:
- Village beat (both banks)
- Ormrods
- Chicken Sheds
- Old Lower Hall
